Boo!

Apparently last year's costume was much more memorable than I expected! At work today a couple people came by to see what my costume was this year (I didn't wear one), and someone else said I had actually inspired theirs this year! I'm flattered! I guess I'll actually have to put some effort in next year now:)

In the meantime, here's me and my boyfriend from last year, with me as a Little Sister (with my Adam extractor) and him as a Splicer:)

oh noes! it's the apocalypse!

Happy Vault opening day everybody!

We will have copy of Fallout on hand, complete with lunch kit!

But boy am I happy we're a 2 Xbox household, this way I can continue to lord over Albion while I await my turn in post-apocalyptic D.C.!

Leave gaming to the professionals, says critic

Oh yeah, I have a blog! It's been a pretty hectic month so far. I'm on a new project at work and since it's a new genre for me, it's taking some getting used to. But I'm having a great time with the team and it's a lot of fun flexing creative brain cells on something entirely different from what I'm used to.

Right now, what I'm looking forward to is the MIGS conference which my work is sending me to. There are some interesting sessions listed. And since my work doesn't supply business cards, I finally had a decent excuse to purchase some Moo cards featuring my photography.

The reason I wanted to post was this ridiculous comment from an reviewer, over a universally-panned game that he gave a glowing review to:

The majority of these people (can’t call them critics) either didn’t complete a fraction of the game, don’t understand game design, or just plain suck at games... These are not valid “opinions” of professional gamers. It’s painfully obvious these people have at best grazed the surface of the overall game which by action gaming standards is anything but short... Most gamers out there who would buy Beast Rider are far better players than the people rushing through a level or two to write these sad reviews; a sad but ever pervasive sign of the times.

Because the best way to win people over is to berate them in public. And people who aren't "professional gamers" aren't entitled to an opinion about a game, especially if they don't enjoy it. Because the only people who are meant to play vide games are professionals.

Apparently this game should come with a warning: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PLAY THIS GAME AT HOME! These people are trained professionals!

New trailer for Mad World

I love Platinum Games and when I first heard about this game I was really interested in seeing how they'd do the black and white graphics. And in this new trailer, wow! It looks fabulous! And ultra-violent too:) I can't wait to get my paws on it...
